INFORMATION ABOUT SPARTANS TRAVEL BASEBALL
Objectives and Goals: The objective of the Spartans Travel Baseball program is to provide children that participate in the 7-12 year old Queensbury Youth Baseball and Softball
recreational baseball program (House League) with an opportunity to compete at a higher level.
The philosophy of Spartans Baseball has a dual approach. While winning District, State and tournament championships are the inherent goal of Spartans Baseball, that goal is balanced with player development, the thrill of competition, sportsmanship, FUN, and how to properly
represent the Queensbury Youth Baseball and Softball Organization.
Overview:
Participation in Spartans Travel Baseball is a serious commitment from both players and families. The playing season typically runs from early April through the end of June. Families should consider this before committing to Spartans Baseball. Once games begin in April,
participation on a Spartans Baseball team will likely result in a baseball game or practice four or more days per week between Spartans Travel Baseball and House League games and practcies. Spartans Travel Baseball is designed as a complement to House League. During the
House League season, Spartans Travel Baseball games are played on Fridays and/or Sundays, and practices are held on Fridays so as not to conflict with House League games or practices.Any Spartans Travel Baseball games played on days other than Friday or Sunday must be preapproved by the Board President and Travel Commissioner. Spartans Travel Baseball managers may hold additional practices throughout the week. However, any players that have a conflict with a House League game or Practice must attend their House League Team game or
Practice. It is mandatory that Spartans Travel Baseball players play in the House League Program. To be eligible to take part in Spartans Travel Baseball the player must reside within the chartered geographical boundaries of Queensbury Youth Baseball and Softball as defined

Requirements for Charter
Teams:
Team tryouts are held in August each year. Queensbury Youth Baseball and Softball will also accept Spartans Travel Baseball Registrations during the House League Registration events over the winter for any teams that did not fill out their roster during the tryouts in August. Based
on demand, the League will field a second travel team at each age group.
